my brother has an account with Geocities (I personally don't use it). He was able to log-on its ftp until yesterday. However, today when he tried to log-on his account, it says "Your ftp session can not be opened". Does it mean that Yahoo! has finally disabled his ftp?
I heard a rumour from this board saying that Yahoo! was going to terminate all Geocities ftp a long time ago, but my brother was able to use it until yetserday......
So, does anyone here can still use Geocities ftp?

How many users do you think geocities would have to go through, maybe they had to figure out how to stop it on free accounts, while still allowing paid accounts to use it.

Your FTP Service
Beginning April 2, 2002, we will no longer provide FTP access as part of our free home page service.
Please note that Premium Members will not be affected by this change in service. Free members interested in continuing their FTP service are encouraged to consider our premium packages. All packages include FTP access, remote loading of images, ad-free pages, and much more. Packages start at just $4.95/month (plus a one-time setup fee).
If you decide not to upgrade your GeoCities web site, you can still upload files using the Easy Upload tool which is accessible within File Manager.

Thank you for using GeoCities,

Their advantage package looks ok for paid hosting but their other paid packages just look like geocities but with no ads and more space and transfer. If you're looking for a really good paid host then don't go with geocities. They're not the best free host so why should they be the best paid host?

I feel sorry for anyone who actually pays to use Geocities.
