The file types that I use frequently is .doc, .pdf., .p65 (Adobe Pagemaker), .jpg., .bmp. Do those files compatible with Linux? I mean when I create a jpg file using Photoshop for windows, can I open this file in Linux? On the other hand, if I create a jpg or other file types in Linux, can I open it in Windows?

If you're running WinE or even an installation of Windows within Linux, then you can open those files in Adobe Pagemaker or the respective program if you wish.

FYI, you can run dual boots so you can get both worlds--just partition your HD.

Windows was created for simple users to do multiple tasks without problems.
Linux was created to do multiple tasks for advance users.

u can get just get the gif plugin or even simplier , just rename it to .gif :p

I am interested in the emulator mentioned by Kentaro. Can you tell me where could I get WinE? Does it support switching between OS-es in one mouse-click?
