I have registered a few domain names, but I've never used it.. My web page is currently on my school's server, now I want to move it on my own domain address!
Is there any cool place that provide free webhosting with using my own domain name?

I would prefer no-ads but I think i'm asking too much..:P
A banner would be fine...

p.s. what do they mean by 'subdomain'??

http://www.netcabins.com
http://www.virtualave.net
http://www.netfirms.com
http://www.worldzone.net
http://www.freeservers.com (not recommended by me)

All those will host your domain name, but all require a banner. I'm sure there are more that will host your domain name, but those are the only ones I can think of right now

if your domain name is http://www.mycrappydomain.com, then a subdomain for that domain would be like http://site.mycrappydomain.com or http://mail.mycrappydomain.com and it all points to different pages.

Another option would be using redirection. If your favorite host doesn't support domain hosting, use services like zoneedit.com to redirect your domain

I went back to the site where I bought domain names, and
redirected them to my site sitting on the school server..
I haven't found my favorite host yet...I don't want any ads...size doesn't really matter...(around..20MB?)
with OKAY speed.. It's gotta be out there eh?

well, Thanks all of you!! This forum is really helpful!

http://www.datablocks.net and http://www.f2s.com have no ads and ok speed. If you live in North America, try Datablocks, if you live in Europe, try F2S.
