Which site design do you prefer the most? I designed a second because I thought the first one had way to much on one page and was a little large.

Thanks

I voted for #2. Even though #1 works perfectly fine on a 1024x768 resolution, it looks terrible on an 800x600. And I agree...it does a little busy and distracting. Even though it's prettier, I don't like to have to scroll to the right. I suggest you make the logo in #2 a bit flashier (not just plain orange), however.

Yeah, if you go straight to http://www.scopewebdesign.com on 800x600 there's a resolution redirector so 800x600'ers won't be able to get into that version, I never got around to creating a low-res version though. :p

If you are planning on designing sites then make it so all browsers are compatible

This site is optimized to Internet Explorer 5.x and 1024x768. Your browser is currently not capable of viewing this site correctly. Please upgrade to a newer browser so you are able to view this site along with many others.

Hah, yeah... I might make it netscape compatible.... stupid netscape doesn't support iframes. It works on Opera and Internet Explorer though.

I tend to disagree with you there Jan, designing a decent looking site to work in all browsers is nearly impossible; however, under the circumstances I believe Akalon did a fantastic job, on both the first and second designs.

Thankyou for reading my post, I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did writing it. ..and yes, I'm eclipticzero, I'm terribly sorry for the pain and anguish caused over the previous week in this forum. I shall improve my vocabulary, and am willing to cooperate with both Moderators/Admins and Members.

Someone wishing to go into professional web design should indeed consider all browsers. I went to a site earlier, a business site, and all I could view was the menu, I clicked on another link and again all I could see was the menu. They lost my business! Tuff! C'est la vie :devious2:

I'll consider all browsers, I'm going to have a browser redirection javascript eventually that will take netscape users to a netscape version which I will have to create :(

bah!
..Considering all browsers is a great idea, but I really do think its nearly impossible to create a decent looking design and then to get it working in all browsers.

Opera and Internet Explorer are the ones I create it for, I've never attempted or even bothered to create a half decent design in Netscape, only because I cannot stand it.

They are both nicely designed websites but, I agree that #2 looks better. Everything is in order when I look at it in 800 X 600 resolution. #1 doens't look that great in 800 X 600.

Keep up the good job.
