Okay, my integrated audio affects my performance in games. I have upgraded my graphics card and ram, and still don't get the performance I want. So, I am going to buy a sound card. I don't really care that much about quality...I'm sure pretty much anything will be better than what I have now. I don't need any other special features, just something that takes a bit of the load off my CPU. So, I was wondering if any old card will do this?

This card comes with a speaker bundle, which I don't really need, but it's cheap, so I was wondering if it would do the trick?

All the rest are about $100 +, and I am looking to spend < $60

Bah! I always push reply instead of new thread.

I'll change this into a post for this topic... :biggrin2:

Get an even cheaper sound card... my sound card cost me $25 USD, and works like a charm. :D

I have the Hercules Gamesurround Fortissimo II (http://us.hercules.com/products/product.php3?id=9). I suggest it, so far I like the card, I haven't had any problems with it. I got it for like $35 or something at newegg.com but it was the oem not the retail package.

Why not browse http://www.tigerdirect.com and look at some sound cards, since you don't want much I would recommend:

A cheap Sb Live
Santa cruz or
terratec.
