How do you make it so the background is transparent

I use Lview, and I goto the background color, select "dropper" click on the color I want to make transparent and then save as GIF 89a

Isn't there something like raspberryhill.com or strawberryhill.com with that "famous GIF shrinker" that takes out the 165535 unused colors? LOL

Its been around for years now -- since I was about a sophomore in high school -- at least that long -- 4-5 years.

It use to have a free trial..and then they changed it. Prices are slightly inflated since I first found them.
