Since openbb has gone awol, I've d/l'ed it and it's just sitting here on my comp.
Is there a way to check it out without installing?
If not, directions may help...
Thanks :D

Hey zoombie,
I'm assuming you are using RC3... just follow these directions:
1) Upload all the files to your server
2) chmod lib/sqldata.php to 777
3) run setup.php
It's that simple :)

hmm... I just saw you didn't have a host.
Search for some free ones with PHP/MySQL with version of PHP 4.1.2 or higher.
If you are looking for paid hosting, I would recommend Trivaya.com

Try it out. It "might" work.
If it doesn't work lemme know and I'll tell you how to
bypass the PHP version check :)

when is the v1.0.0 release coming out? I think OpenBB is the most easy to customize and most professional looking free board.. i really really want it!

Change "possible" to "almost certain", and you've got it right. ;)

Ok...I installed the main RC3 folder on tripod.co.uk and enabled the php and mySQL.
The only thing I can chmod is adding write...There is no 777
The whole site is down now...
(nothing like taking 3-4 days to 'simply' install something  )
This is extremely boring...heh heh...and baseball's on the tube :D
