I am trying to install bulletin board using phpBB on Maxi-web.net freeserver. I already passed the installation page and found this warning:

Warning: SAFE MODE Restriction in effect. The script whose uid is 7908 is not allowed to access /tmp/cfgPGHCqz owned by uid 0 in /home/hrr/forum/install.php on line 482

What's wrong? What should I do. When I click "finish installation" button, I go back to installation page.

Please help. Thanks in advance.

i don't know why people want to host forums on ADSL/Cable modems

It says that they have put restrictions into php so u can't install it

Do you know free hosting on which I can install phpBB? How about freecoolpage.com?

you need a database to run phpbb... i dont know of any free host that gives it for free...

barrysworld.com offers php with their free hosting service, but i'm not sure if their accepting new members right now...

There are many hosts that offer MySQL databases for free. It's just that most of them don't allow forums. :)
