Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone knew of a free script for a menu similar to the one found at http://www.Microsoft.com, but done like http://www.sub-net.com.

Also I'd like it too use a gradual highlight layer, if that's possible. Sort of like the image one at DynamicDrive (http://www.dynamicdrive.com/). Just thought it would look really cool. Or maybe even a plain layer followed by a gradual cell highlight?

Hmmm...

If you followed me, got any ideas?

Thanks,

This should work good:

I think I can create one, if I can get some example code...

Can someone please give me the code to hide and show a layer on a webpage?

please :)

You'd be suprised how much those four words mean, when you've really tired coding. Thanks again! :)

Can't remember but I think I saw that one, and found some small fault.

In the end I wrote the one at http://www.pokemon.mu/ it's just a mix of a few different ones. :)

Looks nice, Supermoo... but wouldn't it be nicer if the dropdown menu didn't cover up parts of the image?

Just bummped into this thread. Like the menu at pokemon.mu.
I'm trying to download a menu like that. Used everything on dynamicdrive, they are all so big! On a normal modem you waste time.
I'm searching for a prog thats about 5-10 kb large. It just needs to be an easy menu. But I need to be able to change the colors.

I have one (cross-browser and customized but powered by heirMenu) at http://ashben.net & another one at http://www.brandquiver.com (left-click anywhere on the page)

This is NEW! Check out the menu (pg. top) at http://www.barrysworld.com/hosting/offer.asp Its the ONLY menu I've come across supporting translucency. The JS also seems to be pretty simple & small. Don't know whether it works in Netscape.

Does that mean there are "no" bugs or there are "known" bugs?

Known. But the menu is gone, including the new design, sorry folks.
Some hints: don't use a special script! My menu worked only in IE. But I got it working in about half an hour. Just use layers, and hide them with javascript.

If I were you I would just avoid the entire DHTML menu idea, too many people are still using old software taht don't support it right.

Not so true. Most of my visitors were using at least IE5 (most were using 5.5).

Of course, if you really want to make a cross-browser site, then avoid using DHTML, although there are quite a few that are cross-browser.

That's what I did, with a bit more. :)

I've tested transperency and it works fine... Now how the hell do I make it so everyone can install it? Argh!
