if I bought hosting with unlimited FTP accounts, could I host a friend, then they buy a domain and use it for there site? Sorry if that doesn't make sence..

only if the host have no problem with you hosting other people, and if you´re allowed to have more than one domain per account of course...

i think it depends on the host but seen as your paying i think they might allow it as long as both you and your friends sites don't take up too much bandwidth and space
i would contact the host and ask

What everyone else said... sometimes the multiple FTP accounts are for personal use only, not necessarily for the purpose of hosting others, let alone pointing domains to the space. This is most likely above and beyond what you'd get with an inexpensive shared hosting account. Check TOS and/or ask the host to be sure, so that you don't suddenly lose the fees you paid.

Email your host will get you the best answer.

I don't think they will terminate your account if both sites don't use much server resources and is within the offered space and bandwidth.

I think if you can host more than one domain under an account, it'll be okay to do that.

Hmm is that posible?

Because I thought I domainname has to be locked onto a IP and DNS? or i'm wrong in this?

I think he's just talking about forwarding it to the folder of the new ftp user (redirecting the domain). Anything is possbile if the admin of the server sets it up, however unless they offer it, it would be questionable if they'd include that in the package.

I don't see how you host can detect such an activity. I log on from several different IP's myself. I mean you still have the same space alottment and bandwidth.

yes, however hosting prices aren't generally based on hosting multiple domains on the same account (you might actually use everything offered, heh). As I said, check the TOS so you don't get kicked and lose the money you paid.
