Man, that really sucks! These users are technically signing their computers "souls" over to juno.

Woah, Juno should go out and buy bigbrother.com! They deserve it!
And just to think that I'm Juno right now... *Shudder*
I'm going to have to pay for my internent from now on.

There are ways to get onto Juno for free without using their proprietary software/ads. Normally I'm totally against that kind of piracy/whatever, but (at least personally) I would make a special case for the assh0les at juno. This goes way too far. It almost reeks of that Cyberdyne company in the Terminator movies.
This disgusts me!

Rodie, I feel the same way as you. When Juno starts trying to do this, I'm going to bypass their software. I'm using their software now for ethical reasons. But when they try that, they aren't being ethical, so neither will I.

Yay! Let's leave my computer on all day just so it can call juno all by itself! .. To me its like giving a house key with a lot of valuable stuff to a complete stranger. Who knows what they will or will not do once they can access your computer like that?

let's use the "fu(k it" key on Juno....
and WTF?! They won't allow you to uninstall the damn thing?!!!? Da HELL!!?!?? Screw 'em!!!!

I even would not let them run as "nobody" on my computer.
Their policy stinks.
Why don't they say you have to ask them if you want use your own computer?

Next thing you know, they'll decide your passwords for you, change them after you logged out, and charge you each time you want to know your new password. *shrugs* hey, might happen....

A huge concern must be security. I mean if Juno is accessing your computer, how hard would it be for a really experienced hacker/cracker to get into juno's servers and screw with every juno person's computer. Geesh, somebody could theoretically wipe out a couple million hard drives at once

I saw a program similar to this, but it paid you. It was called ProcessTree or something like that. Hmm...leaving my computer on all day, giving a complete stranger access to my computer, and making 2 cents an hour for it. This Juno idea is pretty bad. I'd stay away from a company like that.

Geez, I'd rather shell out $20 than get my computer invaded like that.

And one thing I find somewhat amusing is that if someone cannot afford, or is not willing, to pay for internet access, then that person probably won't be paying for an independent phone line for their computer... And who's going to want to have their main phone line tied up all the time for Juno's sake?!?!

Shoot...
If anything I'd rather have me tie up my own phone line and know that I'm not going to get hacked that to have Juno do it for me...
I only have 1 line aways... I'm stay online all day long... so I don't have to hear the phone ring and credit card people harrassing me! LOL
Hey it works!
:D

True but it also stops people who actually are trying to call you from doing so. It became such a problem with people not getting through that I moved over to cable.

Just make them (your friends etc.) call your cell phone and give your mom your real telephone number. :D Moms can be a real pain sometimes...

heh... well, at least I wasn't nosy ;)
besides, I was a good lil bad boy... :D
anyways, the only reason she would buy me a cell phone is because she wants to be able to reach me whenever she wants... ugh.

Oh ya. Imagine, you're 1 year old, you pooped your diapers.
LeX: I don't need my mom! I can change my own diapers.
Mom: Looks at LeX spreading waste all over the floor.
Mom: Doh.
LeX: My mother must be proud of me!
LeX
February 8th, 2001, 08:01
Heh heh.. I'll bet my mother was proud!
Mom: "Hey, our baby can poop all by himself!" :p
Right.. so, you'd like your mother to be able to reach you whenever she wants, fine..... personally, I wouldn't. You haven't seen my mother... she's a real pain, I'm telling you.
"You have to be back home before 7pm, because there are bad guys out there that might knock your --- down and kidnap you for ransom... I'm not going to pay, so you'd better be back here on time, you hear?!"
*sighs*
