I am making a website and i want to make some money off it, and i thought that banners is the best way. Anyone know of a good comapny that pays good and that is reliable, and it doesnt matter if the banners have adult material. And which is better, paid-per-click or paid-per-impression?

There are a lot of factors to consider here. Generally, pay-per-impression is better than pay-per-click. However, if your site gets very low traffic, neither one is a good option. If your site gets very low traffic, you should go with some targeted affiliate programs. I would recommend http://www.cj.com for a lower-traffic site, or http://www.valueclick.com for a higher-traffic site if you want to try per-click. Both are very reliable with payments.

Also you may want to add some other programs to 'compliment' your banner ads! and make you more $$$! ;)

I'd reccomend the following;

SearchTraffic
AllClicks
PopupTraffic
BulkClicks

The disadvantage of pay-per-click is that fewer and fewer people click through on ads these days. On the other hand, pay-per-click companies like ValueClick are reliable payers.

Pay-per-impression is potentially a lot more lucrative, but in my experience the companies that do this are a lot more squirrely: making vague promises or having payouts that are impossible to figure out in advance, retroactively changing their rates, taking a long time to pay, etc.

The problem with impression-based advertisement is, due to lower clickthrough ratios, the rates for CPM are very low now too. On top of that, you won't get a decent CPM plan unless you have a high traffic site and can get into FlyCast. AmazingMedia and Burst aren't paying very much anymore.
