My Own Server

I just want a Apache Server to run of my computer and i know how to do that but can i still run it, ie ppl be able to d/l files of it when my computer is off ? how do i do that ?! thanks :)

I turn off everything except my computer itself, parents haven't noticed a different in the energy bill yet :rolleyes:

If it's a new system - they won't notice a difference. I run 11 computers (5 of them stay on 24/7) and the electric bill is around $200 (before I had the computers, it was around $198).

[Most] Data Centers have raised flooring for ventilation. They have up to the minute stats on their power, Surge Protectors and back up generators. They are designed not to overheat the comptuers within and not to cause a fire.
