PHP/MYSQL, SSI...Maybe 30M bandwith, but 15-20 would do it to..and however much space, I wanna say 60-100 MB, but can't help thinking somene will slam me for wanting to much (remember, i'm a refugee from free hsoting land)

Better, chicken?

Qyuote a bit, however instead of asking, "What can I get for $5?" you might want to include some needs, as you can (only theoretically, not actually) get paid hosting, unlimited everything for $1/mo.

In other words, post something like:

My budget is $5/mo.
I'm looking for reliable host suggestions from people who have used a host and feel they offer great <insert need>. My requirements are 50MB of space and over 1GB of transfer a month, and <insert feature>.

Well, 1 GB of transfer for $5/month isn't that hard to find.

Chicken was just posting an example...

The fact is, the request is a bit cryptic so who knows exactly what his needs are. :D

He is asking for a host between 60-100mb's of space with 30mb's of bandwidth :)

Thirty megs of transfer?

That's why I was confused. Just haven't seen a request for that amount before. Thanks for putting my mind right. That's what I thought he meant but just needed some psychological backup. :D

Do you have a site up with current stats (in order to get a reference point from) or is this mainly for a new site? I'm not entirely sure what 30M means either unless you meant 30 GB's of transfer (which surely would be quite a bit and harder to come by). If you are just starting out, a 50MB/2GB of transfer/mo. plan generally is suitable. Not sure what site you're planning (or have) though...

30 gigs is not that much if you have a popular website. Most people visit my website for the image galleries ... will consume a lot of TRANSFER I guess ... (the bandwidth comes free with my host I think :D )

Forums are a different story ... be sure to skip Ikonboard and other CGI based forums ... use php instead. It will make your host happier (CGI based forums will drain server resources).
