hey, has anyone ever tried communityzero? it's a free remotely hosted board/community and it looks really good, but if anyone's ever tried it, i'd like to hear opinions.
and before anyone berates me for not reading the sticky first... i did actually, and all other threads with bb or other related terms in the title, and communityzero has never been mentioned.
i hope you could help.

Here is one I used to be subscribed to (guess I still am as I just received an update in my email, I thought I had unsubscribed to them all)
I always found them to be extremely slow, especially entering through my login. If anyone wants to test it, sign up so you can have a better look around. (You can always unsubscribe once you test it out)

Well, I just took the virtual tour...Interesting how they have no sample boards or communities.
It's nice to see a host that has some extra space for graphics, etc...but they say unlimited...hmm. They make no mention of ads...although I'm sure there are...or mention any paid upgrades.
I saw where they have a seperate welcome page, news page, calander, etc.
I'll make a board tonight. From their screen-shots, they look pretty typical and dry (no smilies, posticons, etc) but I really don't know until I signup. Maybe they have them...dunno
:D

Hey Jan, it's really slow. And you need to signup first before you can read anything I think.
Not worth it...

one more thing, what i'm really looking for is a board with chat, but most remotely hosted boards don't have that. any suggestions?

put a chat in iframe, than turn the html back off. i have that on a forumco host based on snitz. http://www.forumco.com/support/default.asp basic but all right for what you need. another pretty good remotely hosted board is
http://bb.bbboy.net you can wrap bbcode around a iframe and insert in a thread using thier custimization of bb code they have in the admin panel

Hey, it may not be such a bad idea, as many free hosts are beginning to die out "anonymously" (faster than remote hosts), as well as adding tons of annoying ads. And they're cracking down on forums. Don't expect host.sk to continue their idiotic marketing strategy for long.

I'll check out these three hosts over the weekend, and work on a site redesign as well. I'll start including scripts, as well as adding ALL free remote hosts.
