MEXICO CITY (Reuters) - Carolina stared through her windshield into two gun barrels pointed at her face by a pair of masked men who ordered her out of her car in a dark and deserted intersection of Mexico's capital city.

Frozen with fear, the businesswoman couldn't bring herself to meet the eyes of the assailants, who opened fire on her car. When the bullets bounced off, however, they quickly ran off in search of easier prey.

Only months before, Carolina's husband, worried about a growing wave of kidnappings and robberies targeting drivers, insisted that she have her car armor-plated to give him peace of mind.

"First I thought I'd wasted my money, but now (I realize) I could be dead," Carolina said in a telephone interview after being contacted via Coparmex, a Mexican business group on the front lines of the country's campaign to fight kidnappings.

Honestly, I hope Fox does something about this... I think he has. Recently, 200 new police cars and police pay raises were introduced in some parts of Mexico. But the police force still has corruption problems.

My family car has bullet proof protection too... enough to withstand a brick and a shotgun.

Yeah. My dad and I nearly got stuck in the middle of a riot so we had the embassy put it on.

I don't think my parents can afford that, but seriously Singapore doesn't get so much crimes.

If I was staring down the barrel of a gun and I knew that I had bullet proof armor on my car I would have ran them down with the car, and then I'd most likely back over top of them repeatedly. Then proceed to get out of the car after I knew they wouldn't get up and kick them in the head. Bastards... :angry2:.

Have anyone ever rode in one of thos SWAT tanks?? I have. It's fun, you can litterally run of anything. It's also bulletproof.

But what sucks, when I was in the SWAT tank, I wasn't able to drive. :biggrin2:

Nope but I had a chance to get in a Army tank before with a solider who drove it on a test drive. Now that was fun.
