how can i improve on this... im not THAT great at making graphics but i can get myself arround

Maybe get yourself or a buddy to do you one up in flash... check around the net for a real picture of a nerd (not drawn or clipart) and make your words come in all funky.

why use flash just for a banner?!... personally I do not see the point unless it is a site all about broadband connections or something ;)

Better than anything I could do however the nerdnations.com text that comes after a few seconds is fuzzy. And the picture isn't that good. Try to get something more sharp if you know what I mean.

That is a gif by the way xsnetwork.

Yes, thanks for pointing out the obvious it IS a gif, if you read the post before mine, which I have thoughtfully included below, you might realise why I mentioned flash ;)

I am pretty good in flash, if you want I could make you something. It would look cool with fades. Flash can be smaller than some Gifs so if you want I could make you something.
