oh sorry...it's a typo. it should be:

80 G Bandwidth

First of Is0lized if your site is popular and you are using that much space it is easy to use that much bandwidth. A dedicated server is kind of over kill for what he needs, he would be best off with a reseller like the ones from myacen.com or a few of the other popular resellers, that is definatly your best bet.

Recommending a dead host is hardly helpful, even in jest.

For that amount of bandwidth he should probably get a dedicated server, virtual hosting is not the best choice for that.

If you're using a php and mysql forum it'll take quite a few million hits a month to use 80gb bandwidth.

500 MB
80 GIG
ROTFLMAO

Sorry, couldn't help myself :devious2:

Maybe he needs 50mBITS??? and 80gigabits? That would be more logical, cause all he has stated that he needs is a forum, and I don't think very many forums require that much. No matter how big they are.

Wait aren't gigabits smaller than bytes or am I way off...oops

Bruce

Yes, (m/g)bits are smaller than bytes, but (m/g)bits are measured per second on dedicated lines.

1 Byte = 8 Bits. You can convert whatever you want based on that.

I'm fairly sure this forum uses more than 100 gigs of Bandwidth per month.

I don't know maybe not that much, but I'm sure it is pretty high.

Back on topic...I think this person needs either a custom web hosting plan which I am sure he can get offers for, or a small, high bandwidth reseller, a dedicated server, like I said, is over kill for only needing 500mb

If he takes it down to 60 gig, AWH can accomodate his needs.

That is ridiculous to pay for that instead of a reseller plan though, I could get a reseller with more than that for under $50

Archbob

I disagree, for 6GB space and 80GB bandwidth for $110/month isn't that bad of a deal.

At Phenominet you can get 500mb space and 100GB for $600/year, buts thats 5.5GB less space.

and of course you do get what you paid for.

Yes I have said that many of times, but there is a point where you should choose a reseller over a virtual host

I suggest you show us where you can get this from for under $50 per month. It will probably be a crap company, that is over selling.

Hmm let's see
http://www.myacen.com/specials.html
They probably have the best reputation and are an excellent hosting company. You could also probably make a deal to ask for more transfer and less disk space.

Too bad they are sold out of those plans.
