Im unable to afford myacen anymore, but http://www.netacore.com and another site http://www.hostcolor.com have seemed to pop up.

Netacore seems legit, and ill be going for the lite plan ($5 month). Nice prices, but seem real new.

I had never heard of hostcolor but their max is also in my price range and seems nifty.

And while im at it, how about phenominet? I know its a favorite among blog sites, but their design looks whack which is a turn off. But the prices there are also nice. I tend to only take well designed sites seriously, dont know why.

Anyone ever heard of myqth.com?

And what does static ip mean? whats the difference between that and...regular ip?

Maybe i should just save a little longer and try to get Myacen, since yall like it so much here.

Thanks.

static ip means you get your own ip address which is not shared with other users on the server, or most commonly called dedicated ip.

You will want to go for the $60/year plan if you go for phenominet . I host my commercial site there. They're frontpage design isn't much, but they have excellent service. On the downside, you must do everything manually there, you don't get a control panel. But if you know how to set things up, they are great.

Look at http://www.pearhost.com they really have very reasonable plans, best of all I like them because they give Cpanel 4.7

Yeah thanks, i have checked out pearhost and their $60 plan, which is pretty good, but i can get the same thing at netacore with 250megs and 10 gigs of traffic. They also have CPanel 4.7.

So i was wondering whether anyone has used netacore.com since they are my number 1 choice.

I was also wondering about the static IP thing-- what difference does it make if it is shared with other people, as apposed to having a your own? Just curious.

And as for phenominet, i dont know whether id be able to handle everything manually, but thanks for the advice.

Anyone ever heard of pinehead networks, http://www.pinehead.com?

Thanks a lot guys for all your help.

With a static IP, you can view your site without using your domain name. Also with PLESK, if you have a static IP, you will be able to use the anonymous FTP and SSL certificate functions.

On a majority of servers, if you do not an IP you can still view your site via:

hostingcompany.com/~username or
yourdomain.com
