Are you trying to tell me these pills aren't really magic? I've been scammed! OK calm down, concentrate... Follow the sounds of the synthesizer.... and look for the light... We can get out of here and find the *** that sold us the magic pills.

Video Games do ruin kids. The current generation of children is the fattest, most sedentary in history. do you excercise? no. do you sit on your --- for hours on and pulling your joystick? In more than one way, Yes.
In 20 years all you videogamers are going to be on medication, and you'll be saying "holy crap i wish someone when i was four told me this wasnt the right way to go.

*a little off topic, but I feel it fits*
One of my favourite quotes from Greg Graffin:
the internet has expanded our ability to pacify average americans better than ever by offering fantastical adventures to every corner of the imagination. your home office is the window to your world, and the heart of your social life. such reclusive behavior helps clear the roads and public works from overburden like the lower middle class and others who depend shamelessly on their government. today you are freer than ever to do what you want, provided you can pay for it!
Video games are kinda the same way.
Hey, I guess that makes me a hypocrite, using the Internet and all, but what the hell..

AHAHAHA...
video games were created for the strong willed,
so then the weak shall perish!
therefore creating a utopian society in which all human beings that play video games and are weak-willed will commit suicide or start a school shooting or get fat or something.
while all the strong-willed and intelligent people will be skinny, and get shot by a school shooter or something...
or wait...
something like that.
video games were meant for the strong, but then someone leaked it out, and the stupid people got ahold of them.
yeah.
rite?
and btw, im not messed up, ur just stupid and see the world as a two dimensional shape in which your alter realities are modified by the surrounding atmospheric pressure.
so hah.:D

EH?
WHO'S UR DADDY?
anyways, its not true about how video games mess up kids.
its their parents:rolleyes:
the parents feed the kids bad food, so they think about starting school shooting when they get old enuff to go to school.
everytime their parents feed them something crappy, its one more death.
so i warn you, when you have children, feed them good food.
i dont mean just good food, i mean GOOD food.
:D
btw, who likes my avatar?
is it cool?

What a stupid comment to make!
Video games can open up amazing oppurtunities. One of my best friends has the opportunity to represent Australia in the WCG [World Cyber Games]. He will be getting paid, flown to Sydney and to Korea. Is this a bad thing? No. Professional gaming is a career. Sure, I thought gaming wasn't so terrific, but now I appreciate that it does provide good qualities, too.
The comment about us being the "fattest" is just stupid. Did you ever stop to think that some kids have it in their genes to be "fat"? There are people in the world who can't lose weight, regardless of if they exercise or not. Automatically associating obesity with laziness is an uninformed opinion.

Well, how come the number of overweight (obesity is a health problem and it is a different issue) children have increased dramatically since the late 70s?

It may be a contributing factor, but it is not the only factor.

Can't help but mention that I'm reverse Obese. I ate a Large Pizza and half an order of cheesey bread (A whole large pizza). I weigh 97 pounds. I am 13 years old. The lightest kid in my grade is 108. He eats a peice of bread for dinner.

I suppose this was a poor place to break the news that videogaming is a poor life choice.
some forms of obesity may be hereditary, but, in most cases, obesity is caused by lack of activity, and a bad diet.

Well, how come the number of overweight (obesity is a health problem and it is a different issue) children have increased dramatically since the late 70s?Well, I'm neither pro- nor anti-video game, but just because two events happened to coincide doesn't necessarily mean one caused the other.
If anything that came out of the 70's (well, early 80's) led to our present obesity situation it's been Diet Coke. How many times I've seen a morbidly obese woman eat an entire large pizza with double every topping available on it then top it off with a Diet Coke because she's "trying to loose weight". Same goes for pita bread. You can eat a side of bacon and as long as its in a pita, it's health food.

i drink coke. sprite. and orange juice. i have totally white teeth :biggrin2: i have abs. i like girls. i don't like diet food. i play games . i am not ruined. that is me :normal2:
games are just entertainment. how can it ruin a kid? unless the creator is somehow so good they make the kid obsessed and play it 100 hours (yes. 100) a day (yes. a day). (yes. i mean squaresoft  )

I eat fatty foods and tons of other things and never have gained a pound. My fast metabolism I guess. I weigh a light 120 lbs right now.
BTW, I play games. And I am not ruined.
Gayowulf I don't appreciate your sassy and misled attitude on the situation. What needs to be done is people need to find a balance. I love to walk, love to travel and love to go to target areas. The problem is America is not getting enough of exercise. Games have nothing to do with this. Infact you can play as much as you want as long as you exercise.

I used to be really fat, like 360+, but I have lost like 70 lbs and and now just a big guy.
My little brother plays video games all day and is not cool. This makes me angry because my older brother and I were both cool, while we were in school. I feel like video games are destroying my little brother's social life.

Giancarlo is right, a balance is needed. He is also correct about the American lifestyle.
Try going without TV video games or computer for a week. Not easy.

BTW, I am not American, but Spanish/Italian so maybe that makes a difference. The food we Spaniards and Italians eat is more healthy which includes paella and pasta. So maybe that makes a big difference. My diet does include a lot of meat, but also pasta. I hear tomatoes when made in a sauce is very healthly because an enyzme is activated or something.
