Incase someone missed this message...

We are moving to a new server. The forum has already been moved to the new server. Since we are temporarily using the new ip number for the new forum current members using automatic login will have to login again to post at the forum. The cookie will work again when the dns has updated. If you have forgotten your password you can have it sent to your email at the forum.

We are doing it this way so that we don't loose any posts during the move and so that everybody will see the same forum during this transition. Sorry for any inconvenience.

A new server is good, this probably means faster loading times for the vBulletin and the website (which I find a little slow as of now on peak times.) I wish you the best of luck on your new server and hope you continue the success that you began when you first started this website.

wow, this sure is speedy. If you don't mind me asking Peo, where are you hosted now?

Thanks Coolin. I'm actually hosted by Todd's company, Hyperhosting now. The new dedicated server for FreeWebspace.net is a 1ghz, 512 MB RAM, 36 GB drive. The old one was a 400mhz, 256 mb ram. So it should be faster. :)

I'm also working on some other improvements which should be finished within the next few weeks.

Wonder how Todd got that IP address? By luck or...

The forum has always been fast for me, but if I venture onto the main site, it's run at a crawl the last few times I checked it.

Do we need to change bookmarks or will it work as is when the dns updates?

Everything will work as is when the dns updates. The DNS update was accepted yesterday by the registrar and I beleive it should only take a day or two until it updates around the net.

That's actually just one of the IP's in the block but I wanted to use this one because it is so memorable.

Like Peo said though the domain name will be transferred over soon.

It's actually not a 36 GB drive but rather two 18.4 GB SCSI drives. Those two drives are also Seagate Cheetah X15’s, which spin at 15,000 RPM. :)

If you notice a slow down on this server let me know the time and if possible send a trace. The CPU is rarely even at 10% utilization so I would be surprised if it has any slow downs in the near future.

DNS updated for me about 30 minutes ago, so I'm on the new server. :)
