Ok, i have a question:How do you record a video clip from a DVD straight from a DVD drive?

I don't believe this is possible as it infringes copyrights and there is obviously some protection mechanism against this.

hmm, there are a lot of things which can do this (just havent really figured out how to use them), but i guess you could just rip them then encode them, but i dont know how to encode them, and i dont want the whole thing
