I wonder what the catch is with this spam??? I looked at the website (tripod) and there is just a form to enter your name and email address. I bet it attracted a lot of signups :confused2

How the heck does that work... all our companies for electricity are monopolys, private companies.

It couldn't work, that's why I wonder at the underlying scam, maybe buy something and get the 'free' electricity :confused:

They'll probably try to sell you something, just a one time fee for the information. Free electricity is possible and easy to do, just bypass the meter. You'd have to be a fool to do it though as it is illegal and you will get caught eventually.

It says no set up costs. It doen't say no equipment costs. Maybe they are selling solar panels...or one big freaking windmill to put on your roof.

syd- our electricity companies, or company, i should say, does have a monopoly, but it is not private- It is goverenment owned.

Electricity here is pretty well the cheapest in north america.

Dormant oil fields (Mexico) now have oil in them. Strange, huh? I heard that on Paul Harvey.

As for free electricity, there was actually a contest here (Western USA) sometime not too long ago when someone decided that they wanted to pay a persons electricity for at least a year. Dunno if they actually did that...

Well not in the place I live. It is a private monopoly with government rules. Actually with nuclear power plants here in Argentina it is actually considered an oligopoly with strong government interference.
