Ok, I've to admit that killed that annoying ad-frame... So namezero.com will kick me... Of course, they suggest to pay 24.95 and move to namezero plus...
I'd love to keep my domain, and I'm ready to pay, aren't there cheaper options???
Please tell me what I can do! I'm an almost complete newbie to domains and stuff, so please explain everything!
Big Thanx in advance!

Then why didn't you go register a domain? You should've gone to a registrar to register your domain. Some offer domains at low prices... you'll always find a few around 10 bucks.

Pay up, and transfer to another registrar, I guess...

Why I did use namezero: A friend recommended it to me, it seemed like a good choice ya know...
pew... so what you suggest me to do is paying the 25 bucks to namezero and then moving the domain.... hm... do I have to pay additional for moving if I do so?

If you wanted free domains, then I suppose Namezero would be a choice. But since you're willing to pay for your domain, then it's not your best option. In fact, I don't even recommend it!
Once you pay your 25 bucks, you get to transfer once for "free"... of course, you've already paid the 25 bucks, so in a way, it's like having your domain transferred for half of its regular price ($50), and Namezero still gets your money.

hm... seems quite clear to me... that's how you can catch newbies like me... So what I'll do is pay the lousy 25$ and after a year move to a "regular" registrar such as joker.ocm or something like that... This would be the best thing to do, wouldn't it?

Well, yeah...
Pay them, use the domain until about 1~2 months before expiration and then transfer the domain. Yup.

I registered my domain http://www.PlanetItchy.com with NameZero about six months ago when it was still free...
I was kind if p*ssed off about the $25 Plus thing...
When I signed up, their FAQ specifically said that you could transfer the domain at any time for only $15...
Anyway, I upgraded to the Plus thing two weeks ago and intend to get my $25's worth before moving on...
I'm glad that huge banner is gone, though, and the unlimited subdomains and email addies are fun to play with...

Namezero still is free! I got told that http://www.daveten.com is getting axed. How about http://www.namedemo.com/
Sorry I should have made them links, but this is my second EVER post. Im looking for a decent place to get a free domain other than namedemo and namezero, but i want it FREE!! I have heard of wun site that does it, but can't remember the name of it. I'll post about it if it is gud.

The problem is that I alredy registered at namezero, so my domain would not be avaible any longer if I don't pay the 25$, wouldn't it? How long? I'm afraid namezero would keep it for the time being...

I'm quite sure that they'll keep em for at least one year, as they must have paid for the, right?
I don't see any chance apart from paying...
