My new record label / mp3 site is
http://www.xmuzik.com i am hosting it from my own house right now and I need to begin uploading it to a host but my problem is
1. I am still under heavy construction
2. i need some cgi scripts to help with artist sign up and the uploading and downloading of files
3. the site is already 400 mb and not done with the design and it's looking like it's gonna cost to run it
The site is legal and I was wondering if any of you on here can help me out with some cgi scripts do you know of some web hosts , I looked at rackspace and it's looking like it will cost $250.00 a month for 20gb of space. I want to offer it to artists of digital media for free so that they can sell and give away free tier artwork but the problem I am running into is the cost of webspace. Does any one have any ideas or want to help.

you will need plug-ins such as flash / winamp etc. to view and download music and videos and some of the links are dead know do to some sites killing of deep linking but some sites are being cool and allowing it and helping offer content with the project.
I offer free advertising for record stores , artists , shops , concerts and raves , omds that show support etc. who help out the artist network and I dont view it as competition for othere online music dist. I just want to offer a space where artists don't get ----ed
the site is legal and i have plans to build 4-5 others for publishing, a sound system for live shows , a ezine , online tv station,street team etc.
I want to keep it free
