The test server has a 40 gig hard drive, so each user can realistically use 40 megabytes, assuming all thousand does so.
No limit? Until its full basicly?

Warez sites using 500 megs for files only will be terminated, sites using 200 megs for logical and non abusive purposes will be embraced :-)

I need somewhere for a small bulletin board, only about 30 members (high school alumni group) and will allow attachments, you know.... look at the fish i caught this weekend!!!
will you allow that? how big are the popunders? is there only one on loading or one for every page change?

Testing means these accounts won't be permanent? Or will you keep the accounts active even after tests?

hehe, i actually filled in all info correctly... the site i´m working on right now is the first 100% legal i´ve done in about a year and a half... why do you need my address and phonenumber to provide me with free hosting anyway?
sounds like a good deal otherwise, hope you find good advertisers, its not easy these days...

Accounts are permanent obviously. No cgi-bins are not allowed. CGI/PERL is too much of a pain to securely allow. Besides, phps better :-)
Ads aren't currently implemented, and won't be until we come up with a good method of doing so.
Cheers.

Hmm... I can't log in thru the website even after I've been authorized by the admin. Also, my website isn't showing up, and my FTP won't let me upload/create new folders, etc. even though I can connect to my account. Help me please. My account name is equinox.
Blazing fast FTP during connection though, good work with that :)

Still got some bugs, give us a few days to get it all perfected.
Cheers.
(edit)
Xug.net is now bug free, as far as FTP and web access is concerned. MySql is still being tested, but I feel I can safely say we're working.

looks promising :chinese2:
I tried a signup with 3 different units...msie 5.5...netscape and even a webtv/msntv unit.
In all cases I am told my name is not real. How do you know?
I am told my town does not exist. It has 60,000 residents.

Okay I just signed up, at first my surname was wrong because it didn't have a capital and my password was not long enough. But my town was accepted and it is maybe only 10,000 population. Make sure the post code matches your town okay?
Oh and I don't really want the account Nerdcities, I will cancel it, was just experimenting for zzx :biggrin2:

Hey Nerd :D,
would you allow me to host some Counter-Strike Files. They are legal, but some are a bit big :)
And would you allow the download of legal files. Like other CS stuff: Maps for example( about 3mb big)

I considered using that script from www.dvhs.com.md for www.ghs20.com and now I'm glad I didn't even bother testing it... I am using a different script from www.cyberscript.net now and I am setting it up now so that my users can have FTP access and sub-domains .. I am working on a script also with CyberScript so that it will also offer and e-mail system.;-)

Your account must first be approved before you can login. We try to approve roughly 50 a day, it takes time to review apps, so be patient.

I'm not sure who you've been contacting, but please PM me for support questions, as I've never spoken with you via msn.
As for the early accounts, some of the first 20 or so accounts approved have a bug in them, which we're trying to resolve, not sure what happened, but the server got mad at em.
Thanks for the support.

I don't blame you for banning Roly.
OK, now that I think about it, I was somewhere around the 10th person to sign up as well. Let's see what we can do about getting me up and running?
Pretty please with sugar on top?
hmhmhmhm..........for a couple of days everything worked fine.
Now my browser tells me that it can't find www.xug.net at all, not to mention ftp or forum access?????????????
I hope it is just something very little, minor, minutive, small, irrelevant kind of hick up???????? Maybe on my site of the connection?
well, whatever it was, it works again.................:)
