Anybody want to do reviews on them? I found these URLs from another site, and everything I post after the links are what the site claimed (with a bit o editing from me), so if the links don't work or they don't offer free webspace anymore, don't blame me. :D

Hi LeX,
Your list is useful. I hope you'll keep up the useful service.
The sites offering PHP are all quite sluggish. Perhaps you'll list the below 10MB sites supporting PHP. They may prove to be faster.

Agree!
At the moment I discover another FWP resource: Telephone companies (callbycall) and ISPs (callbycall). Some offer a subscription for free with no obligation to phone with them and include a small ad-free webspace without scripts. At the moment I cannot recommend any, but maybe there are others who can.

Well, I was talking about the forums... you hear people mention f2s and crosswinds and spaceports and datablocks everyday, but you don't see any of the fwps listed above (at least I haven't).
I might list the 10MB- fwps later on, if I feel like it. :p It took me a while to write and edit that, you know..

F2S, Netcabins, Datablocks, Spaceports and all those other hosts are usually mentioned because they are proven to be reliable and good. Small hosts usually live a short life.
This list however, includes lots of hosts with interesting features, and some may live long. Thank you for this list as we now have a larger database of hosts for those who dare use a host with more features that are less proven.

Gee, this must be seriously new, 'cause the current number of hosted sites is 32...
from dhivehimail.com's main page...
You can pay small amount of money to remove the add at the top of the page, but don't worry, with this banner your site looks more professional.
Da HELL?!?!?!?!

Kinda sad... they're only hosting one single site! *lol*
Ugh... yet another Excelland powered fwp... so they were kinda lying when they said they offer "virtually unlimited space" - they said so on their front page.

True.
At first, I thought the "Need For Speed" was in terms of being a fast FWP, not the movie...

And some have already been alive quite a while. It's just that this board is mainly biased towards providers in the US. With the exception of f2s, of course.

That's a pity. Most times you have to make a page in the language of the country, but ie. I made a page at sapo.pt and starmedia.com and till now they don't insert ads.

There is a host I'd like to put here:
http://www.ms-network.net - 40MB, PHP4, Perl, ASP, FrontPage, FTP access, SSI, supports WML for WAP sites, POP accounts (I'm not sure about this last feature), no Ads at all. [Some parts of the site are in Italian, others in English]
This service is growing a lot: at the beginning of the year, it had about 400 sites hosted and now it has more than 1400!!
They are relatively new and had some instability in the past, but now seems to be OK. Speed average. The problems with them:
1) Windows 2000 based servers (I hate it! I'm a *nix lover and I really don't need ASP...)
2) Support only through their forum. Some parts of the site are in Italian and I can't understand. They said that they are translating all the site to English. Let's wait.

windows-server and ms in the name - aaaaaaaaah
AndreVR
February 18th, 2001, 15:31
Heheheh... in this case, the "ms-network" has nothing to do with Microsoft. It is the abbreviation of Media Service Network. Anyway, tie Windows-based servers are not part of the perfect FWP, in my opinion.

The problem with Windows servers is that they cannot support a large population. A large population is what Freewebspace providers have to deal with. Also, they cannot support 2 things that are often sought after: PHP and MySQL. Linux can support ASP though.
