It depends on a someone's personal choice. There is no best language as such. I like PHP though.

I like php as it is:

- easy to learn;
- very fast;
- open source;
- lots of people use it so its easy to get help.

My personal choices are PHP and ASP.NET. Both are scalable, robust and have an elaborative feature-set.
