I just switched over from 800x600 and its incredible!!! So much more space! I can run 2 applications, half a screen each, and still see all the options! Amazing! If you havent done it yet, switch over now!!!!!!

Use 1280x1024 like me, you'll have more space than you know what to do with.

It really isn't. I have been using 1280X1024 and it is just fine.... but 1600X1200 is something I can't understand... people who have 19 inch monitors using that resolution is just crazy.

That resolution rocks!
Note: You must have 0/0 vision to see it.

ROTFLMAO
Well.... 1600X1200 would be way too small for me.... I would have to use large icons and everything and even that would be hard to see.

A regular 36" TV isn't capable of anything more than 800x600.
Give me a 21" monitor and I'd be using 2048x1536.

Ahh...I remember the big switch to 1024x768...everything seemed so small at first. But now I can't change back...ever. 800x600 is so huge!
When you set Resolution like i use 1280x1024 or higher did you know that you must also go to control panel, Display, Setting, Custom Font Size, OTHERS....... than set it to AT lease 200%
.........................................
But if you ever deside to go back down be sure that you take font size back to small or 100% before you do anything else....
You will LOVE it

I have 2 computers in my house...
On one, I can ONLY go up to 1024x768
on the other on (the one that i'm typing this on) can go to 1280x1024. But 1280x1024 is WAY too tiny!

My monitor also only supports up to 1024x768 resolution... :o
The difference may be in the size of the monitor. But most people use 17" these days. If i write for my 21" that may cause problems with viewing on smaller monitor. 800x600 may be standard but i would not count on it these days. I am new to web programming so all of this is just my guest, I got a lot to learn starting at the bottom.
I just started using 1280x1024 yesterday. Now, 1024x768 seems so big to me, and I dont even want to mention 800x600
