Namezero No Longer Free?

Hmm it seems as though namezero.com only have payed accounts now...

I still got my free account with them.

But you are right, could only find the Plus (paid) service on their web-page.
A reason could be, that they are in changing their site and that it is just temporarly removed. Perhaps check later again.

I don't think so. I think they've stopped their free domain services completely. They still had the free options when they changed their layouts a few weeks ago... now there are none, so I'm guessing they don't offer free domains anymore.
