I'd like to have a nice comparison of some cheap domainregistrars. Attributes as Price, Features and Reliability would be appreciated.

E.g. I know that mails at anything@namezero-domain.net often just do not arrive, or that joker.com has difficulties with some credit cards...

Please help!

Hi Grent,

I had the same qustions as you.
Only that I signed up for a free domain with namezero first. (ads:-( )
The problem with free registars is, that you don't own the domain for real and that your vistors see ads.
And it's kind of expensive to upgrade/move to a diffrent registrar.

I read a lot of threads in this forum. (By the way: Thanks goes out to all that posted helpful information in the past!!)
I would register a domain at:
http://www.gkg.net/
They are cheap and reliable and the support is ok.

But if you want to transfer a domain to a new registar, i remember that you should take either
http://weblaunching.net/ (would prefer that one)
or
http://000domains.com/

cause they allow you to transfer online. (no need to fax).
But I am not sure, if gkg.net offers that, too.

Conserning the email problem:
I got the domain kersche.net and for a day I lost all the emails I got:-( (mailto:arno@kersche.net)
BUT the problem was that something with the forwarding of the email did not work!

What you wanna get is a quality host, that lets you park your domain! And this is where you wanna take a look at the features

If you need some features like forwarding of email and url, then you often have to pay extra and you should look around perhaps for a cheap, but reliable package.
(You also could take a free service: take a look at
http://www.mydomain.com/ )

Greetings Arno

I've had a free namezero domain as well...:-(
I'll look through your links now.

Thanks a lot,
Grent

I have recently started with registerfly.com ($9.95). What is really nice is that they include redirection with that. The MX you have to take care of with someone like everyone.net.
