Does anyone know of a good fast server that runs on NT and has cgi-access. I use digital rice right now, but they can be a bit sluggish sometimes.

Thank you. :)

If you only need CGI, you don't need an NT server. Besides CGI works better with *nix servers.

Do you still have to chmod on NT servers?

I don't use NT servers, but as far as I know... You CAN'T chmod, since this is a Unix command.

I think that's the reason you have to put all your perl/cgi script in a directory that has execution permissions (like /scripts or /cgi-bin), since you (the user) can't modify the permissions of other directories without the chmod command.

I love NT but if running cgi scripts we're talking about then I have doubts over it.

I tried to use some cgi scripts using NT server and it doesn't work at times.

If you want an NT server just because you don't want to CHMOD, I suggest you don't. Not chmoding makes many scripts malfunction, and it's better to spend the time chmoding to get your scripts right than to troubleshoot later on.

Hi ,
I also need WINCGI access, because I have a few compiled
Delphi sripts in WInNT machine code, so it will only
run on WInNT or Windows 2000.
Is there any free Windows webhoster out there
that allows my own CGIs ?

Regards, Stefan.
