Hi, I've been lurking around the boards for a while, reading everything with interest. Most of you folks really seem to know what you're talking about (ha - sucking up in my first post already? Tsk.) so I'd like to ask for help with a good webspace provider that:

- Has no ads
- Has a short domain

That's all, really. Uploading by FTP or browser doesn't matter, and the amount of space doesn't matter either.

I hope you guys could help me out here! Thanks in advance.

Ahhh, I'm sorry, I forgot to add that a subdomain would be much preferable. I'm a ditz, really. Sorry!

http://www.portland.co.uk offers alot for no ads if your site doesn't get much traffic (100meg/month transfer limit)
http://www.datablocks.net has 20 megs/no ads/FTP/tons of features you probably don't need.
http://www.9ug.com has 100 megs with FTP/Browser upload support.

They all give subdomains.
