I will be opening up a site at Capabara.com (not open yet) that will offer some new scripts. I have a set of scripts that I use for Worldzone.net (WZ does not own them) that keep Worldzone free of Warez. This set is partially automated, partially manual. You can of course automate it if you choose. This is a script that has moderators and admins. Your moderators go thru it and check files, and submit them for admin review and possible deletion if suspect, or otherwise permanently taken off the list if ok.

This system detects all warez file types. Some of it's filters include:
1) detects double extension files like name.zip.html
2) detects extension changed files like name.zip being changed to name.gif like http://www.worldzone.net/art/webbied/wgadata.gif
3) Detects encrypted files like the above, but that actually show an image (files hidden within images)

Admin actions include:
deletion of file and/or account/directory
monitoring of suspect accounts
Mod (manual) actions include:
Search by chosen file size along with various actions above. Can check all, or per catagory.

Even on manual work, it is easy to do. During this past month I have had signups shut down on WZ while we optimized and tested this system......we have run out of warez sites and are now using it to kill off all adult content. It's a system like no free host has ever had, and easy to use. Not even the biggest have anything like this. Right now it uses flat file db, but may switch it to mysql (but flat file works anywhere, and is plenty fast for this).

Initial offer price will be $250, we install it to your system (due to each free host being setup differently). I know that's high, but it's cheaper than what warez can cost you..

Wouldn't this be beneficial for paid hosts too? Or do they already have some detection process?

I know nothing :o

paidhosts doesnt have so much members, so i think they can wath at the most users account
most warezfiles use also lots of datatransfer
and: some paidhost doesnt care about that

Warez generally wont host on a paid host. If they do, they dont keep their files there, for two reasons.

1) They dont wanna get shut down.
2) They dont wanna pay for the bandwidth.

Most stick to free hosts though. They are not safe from shutdown in either, but last longer at free hosts because it's hard for hosts with that many members to watch everything. Now there's something that evens those odds....but yeah, paid hosts could use it too, it's just not as critical for them to need to do so..

A side note on that. If a paid hosts wanted this script installed, we would need root access (create a temp user with GID/UID of 0). With a free host we dont need that unless the users have their own UID's. In most cases they dont.
