I am currently looking for a host with the following fetaures:

Essential Features:
1)A LOT of space
2)CGI (Perl 5)
3)SSI
4)FTP
5)Domain Hosting

Preferred, But Not Essential Features:
1)MySQL Database (With quite a bit of DB Space, no 5 megs or something, like F2S was offering)
2)PHP3/PHP4

I don't mind ads, as long as they're a reasonable size, but no adframes or watermarks...

What is adframe anyway?

Heard it a lot but don't have any clue about it.

So far, http://www.datablocks.net and http://www.f2s.com has these features with 20megs of space and no ads. This, however, may not be enough.
There is, however, another host.

http://www.hypermart.net provides 50megs of space and FTP/SSI/CGI/Domain Hosting. They're advertising mechanism is a topbanner (it may also be user-placable, above the fold. I'm not sure.) They also allow you to have 3 accounts for one email address. Don't ask me why this is, it's sorta like they promote multiple accounts.

In 3 weeks however, Netcabins will open with up to 60 megs of space and nicer looking banners than Hypermart. They also support PHP.

An adframe is what nbci is doing to their members' pages. They force a frame to your pages filled with ads and everything, it usually wrecks your site.

An ad-frame doesn't wreck your site at all in terms of layout. Yes, it does make your site look not that nice, but if no other frames are used, it's passable.

Note the word "usually"....

Actually, I'd only recommend using Nbci if your site DOES use frames, like mine does. This way, your site's visitors would only see one advertisement the whole time they're in your site. Besides, it's a hell of a whole lot better than pop-up advertisements on every page, and the FWP's who insist on automatically placing a banner directly on your pages won't work with frame-based websites (except Fortunecity). Also, if your site DOES NOT use frames, and you use a redirection service, Nbci's javascript will re-write your page links to appear to reload its Nbci bar when clicked, and it will also remove your cloak. My suggestion: either don't host with Nbci if you use a forwarding service or use frames on your Nbci site.
