Got my AMD 2k1's today. Good god, I was running 6 programs, and was online downloading at full speed. I LOVE AMD!!! Anyone here share my sentiments?

Umm...call me dumb but what is a 2k1??? and umm, my old 200mhz pentium pro could do that easily. but it has more to do with ram than processor.

Yeah, my P3 550 can do that too. :classic2: Mind you, I wouldn't mind a 2ghz or whatever.

Though I used a friends 300mhz once... and that had trouble running one program at a time. :eek:

Well, I've put my 475 MHz AMD K6-2 chip through hell. Any of you who've seen the desktop pic of mine could vouch for that. 6 programs on an XP 2100+ is nothing. I would expect it to do 25 easily. It really depends more on the RAM though.

I swear on this but we used to have a 200mhz pentium pro with 128mb ram and it would completly 100% out run and other computer I have ever used under 600mhz it was like the best you could buy when we got it. But now we sold it to some guy for like $300 he got ripped

well i have 32 proccesses running now, and usaly all the time (mabey 25 or so)


and i have opened arround 50+ IE windows pluys apps without crashing, and not that slow..


850Mhz AMD Athlon

Well if you want to count processes, than I currently have 63... usually somehwere around there most of the time.

I got about ten processers... but I mean tons and tons of other components. My dad had to get a massive organization cabinet to put them away.

Eeek... my fault... and don't roll your damn eyes at me. I am sick of that smily. It pisses me off.

Isolized this forum is not centered on you... maybe if you were nice enough you would not include that smily.

Sorry about the mistake.

At this time I have two windows open.... a news ticker... and quite a few probably a dozen little buttons next to the time.

Ooh, good for you (at least AMD produces good stuff). :rolleyes:

I was running 20+ programs and using wget on a pentium II MMX at full speed. Your point? :confused:

So? I'm just saying, any fairly recent (4~5 years) processor could handle what he was saying his Athlon could doing- "[run] 6 programs, and...[download] at full speed"

listen GC, im gonna say this once and only once, i dont care if you respond or not because i have you on ignore and i selectivly look at your posts but...

your telling me that the forum doesnt center arround me, how am i making it center arround me? you have told me this atleast 5 times and each time it makes no sense. i am just correcting you. remember treat others how you want to be treated, you treat others like crap so does that mean you want to be treated like crap? i hope so, no one wants to be (hopfully)

i dont mean to be rude about this but i kinda had it with your bickering and thats one of the reasons i never liked you, dont like you and will never like you. This is my opinion and im going to stick to it...

I know... but there is a massive difference between the two especially when it comes to multimedia, graphics, word processing, and games. Sure the Pentium II can handle it, but the Althon does it at a much faster speed. No debate on it.

MWhahahaha, that sounds like a challenge....I'll open up; Bryce 4 and 5, make them render a REALLY BIG IMAGE, open up the other 10 art programs I have, and Render a REALLY HI-Poly count image, and to top it off, I'll be playing a cd, as many songs as I can, and..surf the net. And I have 1024 DDR Ram :D

6 programs is nothing.

but then "and was online downloading at full speed. " is amazing... that never happened to me when I was running 6 programs.
