I think it's just to show how long you've been around. cds is the only Senior because he has posted over 100 messages.

more like 200 messages...

...and this board has been up how long? a little over a week?

"rankings" have nothing to do with your 'status' on this webboard. They just reflect the number of posts you have, which is not that good of an indicator in the first place.

And if your really worried about it, in a week or so we will all be "senior members" :)

Do these numbers go up in time (like being graded on the curve)? Only so many chiefs...

This ranking system is strange, ive never seen it on any other board.

i guess some people have more time to blow than others. 200+ posts is seriously disturbing. this new forum has been up how long, a week & a half?

plus, it says 'cds' registered in november, which would give him a grand total of less than 6 days to post as of right now, assuming he registered november 1st. that's over 35 messages a day on average. someone needs to find a day job.

oh yeah, i've seen this 'ranking system', if you will, on other scripts, the most popular being ultimate bulletin board.

He joined on November 3rd meaning that he has posted 211 times in 3 days.

I don't post that often but I might as well share my thoughts here -- the ratings system doesn't matter at all. A poster doesn't necessarily have to have 200 or even 2000 posts to his/her name in order to earn the respect of the forum.

We're all sharing information voluntarily so it doesn't make much of a difference who posts the most or even whose posts are the best, etc.. have fun debating about it... but in the long run, it really doesn't matter.

UBB has it. When I had an eWrestling site with UBB, the three rankings were 'Rookie', 'Superstar', and 'Veteran'. The membes found it quite amusing....

Currently I don't... only have 9 hrs of classes first semester... And since I mostly live in the evenings and nights, gives me the whole day to hang on the net...

I really need to get a gf....

Does it really matter if he's posted 1 post 20,000 posts if he chooses to be a complete geek thats his choice.

If he's helping people full credit to him.

stop dissing cds...
all he's doing is helping out with his messages.
I don't have a life either... but i spend it on my own message board. It's really more fun than you think...

I'm offended Eddy! cds is a nerd. don't insult skater-punk-rock-geek's [like me] like that!

Of all the ways you could pad your post count, why did you have to dig up this ancient thread? It's nearly a year old!

I remember when cds's 200 some posts was obscenely huge. Lets leave this thread be as sort of a historical thing to remember what the board used to be like.

Wow, a thread dug up twice.

That's amazing. Also a testament to the idiocy of some of our members.
