Not sure If I understand correctly, by do you want your doamin to forward to a host, but have your address cloaked? Mydomain.com does this for free, and has lots of other features. Don't know if this is what you were after though.

Once again, don't really understand you....but....
Do you have a registered domain? If you don't, go register one and point it to mydomain's servers. If you have one, edit the DNS so it points to mydomain.com. Once you've done this, it shouldn't take that long for the DNS to be updated. Maybe 48 hours.

Its nonsense to get a free domain, because you are not the owner of the domain then. Have a look at the domain registration forum here.

When I signed up, it took about 5 days or so for a first reply. If you've already waited that long, maybe he's(pretty sure it's run by 1 guy) pulling a NameZero on new signups.

Did you read the conditions? Wait what happens after 1 year, if your domain is continued or not. I think it's better to pay about $10 and you can do what you want, because you own the domain.

I didn't even think domainzero offered free domains anymore, but I could be wrong. First, realize one thing...
You are doing this backwards. You don't get space and then forward the space to the domain. You get a domain and forward the domain to the space. At least let's get you going in the right direction.
Now that we are moving toward the ultimate goal, is less than $0.03/day too much for you? (That's about $0.84 a month). If the answer is no, then forget about free domains and go getcher self a nice domain that you will have control of and skip the free domain game.
If the site ever turns out to be something you like, you'll deeply regret you didn't just get it in the first place.

This is from my experience and hopefully it can help and give some insight into your question.
First, it is not worth it to have a free domain. I even know of how to get a free domain name from namezero.com and put in a special code to get rid of the advertising banner but it is not worth it. Go get yourself a domain name for about $10/year (that is about 2-3 visits to McDonald's) That is a good price now compared to several years ago when the price was actually $35/year. But since all the good names have been taking with .com, make sure you can get a good short or catchy name that people will remember easily that perhaps you can even sell back your domain name in the future.
Some of the good places that you can visit to buy your domain name are:
http://registrar.godaddy.com - $8.95/1y, $23.85/3y, $69.50/10y (limited time)
http://www.stargateinc.com - $10 ($8, if you purchase 2 or more domains at one time)
http://www.registerclub.com - $10
http://www.gkg.net $9.99/year
http://www.joker.com
http://www.powerpipe.com $8.88/year
http://www.registerfly.com $10/year
Then next I suggest you point your domain to http://www.mydomain.com to have FREE cloaking redirection so your domain name will always to at the browsers address box at the top. You can even have your MX mail point to http://www.everyone.net to have your users to have name@yourdomainname.com
If you like to have many people visit your site. I also suggest you to to get a FREE forum board at http://www.phpbb.com or at http://www.ikonboard.com
Also, having a chat page at your site will also attract many people to your site. You can use the one at Jpilot that you have to purchase for a reasonable price of $39.99 or have a FREE chat page at http://chatfirst.com (they also offer free web hosting but it has the blinking advertising down at the status window).
Also come to this board often to check on some of the FREE and NO adds free webhostings. Many users here know many of them and are always update on those FREE web hostings or mention new ones. Some of the commonly ones discussed are:
stas.net
f2s.com
sphosting.com
digitalrice.com
elitecities.com
datablocks.com
eccentrix.com
ms-network.net
brinkster.com
These are the good ones and some have special features such as ASP, MySQl/PHP, CGI-Bin, etc...
So go and think real hard about a good domain name that you can purchase and be proud to own. This is just my suggestion. Hope it helps.
Phil

John Doe - is this what you were asking? Where you can get a domain name for free, that forwards to your home page?
Bravenet.com offers free forwarding domains like http://clix.to/yourmembername, along with a whole lot of choices instead of just "clix."
But do be forewarned, if you have a business, the best thing to do (depending on your situation) is to register a good domain name, regardless of how much it costs. It may be worth the money later on, when you become better known and want something like "www.mybusiness.com" to put on your business cards instead of "http://welcome.to/mybusiness". Of course, you will have to judge that for yourself.

first off he said he registered a domain with domainzero when they were free. They are no longer free although I believe everyone who knew about domainzero registered 3-4 names.

Wait, I'm confused................ If domain names are only $10 a year, then why did I see a whole bunch for like $50,000?

Hallucination... must've been a hallucination.
I mean, back in the early days, the most expensive domains (and the only place you can get domains) is from InterNIC for $35 per year...

If their taken and they have a good name, the reseller makes a fortune by selling it to someone. You know the domain business.com? That was sold for 10 million dollars.

Bwaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrggggg!!! The internet needs to be cheaper. Either way, I'd rather pay the processing fee. By the time you get your credit card bill, that $10 domain will cost you about $33.
