Hey, I`m looking for a host that provides this stuff:

- PHP/MySQL: I really need this! Mostly for this kind of programming: [link] (http://galileo.spaceports.com/~xdtforum/main.php?pid=newspro/news.html&mid=menu/main.html)
- CGI/Perl: A own cgi-bin would come in handy cuz I need it for NewsPro and a UBB
- Bandwidth: Does`nt matter as long as it is enough for a forum and a site
- Storage: Atleast not lower then 25 MB`s
- Ads: No Pop-Ups/Unders but if there is no other way then I could live with a Pop-Up/Under

Well, this is actually all the stuff I need for my site. If u know a good host then I would appriciate (sp?) it
if you want to tell me! Oh before I forget! There are allready a few hosts that I tried, these are the ones I tried (I like lists :D):

- SpacePorts
- Netfirms
- ProHosting
- Web 1000
- My Anime Companion (FTP does`nt work)

I don`t know if there are any rules on a host for having an anime/cartoon site but i it is
Then I`d like to have one that allows u to have those type of sites.

Thank you for your time!

Try http://xug.net

jmiller, xug doesn't support some of the features he asked for.

Anyway, your requirements are very high and I don't think any host would suit you. Why not just stick to php and mysql and not use cgi/perl?

You have a UBB and cannot afford a cheap paid hoster?

Regardless, do not be surprised if your account gets deleted for resource consumption, which a cgi forum will do. You are MUCH better off getting a php based forum like Burning Board, PHPBB, or since you can afford UBB, just get a VBB.

There are also paid hosters for as little as $10/year

Maybe he got the demo crap version...

I may be wrong, but I think the demo will only allow like 30 users and 100 posts, unless it was cracked ;)

If you paid for it (like $100+) then it is a regular version.

If you downloaded from UBB.com or whatever the url is (infopop?) then it is the trial.

If you got it elsewhere, it is most likely a pirated version.

Suggestion:

Goto phpbb.com or another free php based forum site. Php forums run faster and use less resources. Most hosts will not host (willingly) a cgi-based forum, since it bogs down the server.
