Whenever i try to load a file from c:\my documents\ (or any folder with a space in it's name, like "program files")
it always trys to load c:\my then documents\, like say i wanted to open c:\my documents\fred.txt, i would get an error "c:\my" does not exist, then the error "documents\fred.txt" does not exist. That happens when i double click a file for it to open, but if i actually open up the program first, then go to the menu and click open, then find the file, it works perfectly. I know it does not seem like much, but it gets really annoying.

how bout renaming c:\my documents to c:\mydocuments?

you can also repoint the "My Documents" Shortcut on your desktop to the new folder by right clicking on the shortcut and going to properties..

I don't think so.. I think if you point the "My Documents" shortcut on your desktop to that new folder, all your programs will recognize the new folder..

I'm pretty sure it will work because I keep my docs directory on a separate hard drive ( e: )..

Yes this has happened to me too, I am not sure how I fixed it, I think I just put a hidden character in between and it read through, or an underscore something try using an invincible character though

Try renaming it to C:\My%20Documents\
