Krispy Kreme is opening up stores in Sydney and Melbourne, and more to come for sure.

It's a doughnut company based in Winston-Salem NC, real close to where I live, and they have a neon sign that they turn on when they have fresh doughnuts made... and when you get them fresh they are hot and they just melt in your mouth. If you haven't experienced these delights, I assure you it's worth it.

They are cheap around here too, like 3 bucks for a dozen of the fresh ones.

As I am roughly 3157 km (1961 miles) from Sydney, I guess I will have to wait till they expand the franchises ;)

It's worth the walk. Believe me. You can burn off all those calories on the way back.

No Krispy Kreme for me.

All we have over here is Tim Hortons and Dunkin Donuts.

Despite Argentina's declining economy, Dunkin' Donuts could find a big market here.... people love AM/PM, the Coffee Store (or Coffee Shop, forget the name)... that are here... I always see them get a lot of business.

They don't have it here or any donut store for that matter that I can find... only national pastries which I do admit are pretty damn good too.

What the hell? They're making Krispy Kreme in Australia? I've never even seen one here!

Not like it matters, I still love Tim Hortons anyway.

from the article:
Currently Toronto houses the first and only Krispy Kreme store outside the United States, but Wednesday was the first concrete announcement that Krispy Kremes will be available beyond the continent.

How about you make a road trip down to North Carolina, and I'll take you to Krispy Kreme's, and I go up to Canada, and you can introduce me to people that actually say '-eh'.

Blank Verse

Sounds like a good deal. I can find so many people that say "eh" (myself included), it may overwhelm you.

Well, it's roughly 2000 km, so around 1000 miles

and yes, if you're a Canadian watching Jeopardy, the Canadian geography is painful.

So when was it controversial? I see no problem with it. All historians in their own way ;)

Are they really that great? I know when they opened one up here they had people sleeping outside the store the day before to get doughnuts. I just can't believe there is that big of a deal over doughnuts. I'm starting to wonder if the Starwars fans were the same people as the Krispy Kreme fans and they just enjoy sleeping outside. :D

I know I heard on the news they are roughly as healthy as eating three Big Mac's as they said. I'm assuming that's calorie wise but I wasn't paying that much attention.

Pastry Rolls (with the cream) have twice the calories of one hamburger... but I still like to eat them... :biggrin2:

 I can't believe people would be lining up the day before just for a doughnut, I can understand it for a major sporting event or concert, but a doughnut? :p

I love how cops are actually always there. I'd think they'd want to avoid that kind of stereotype. But (at least where I live), there's a cop car there at all times. I remember one day I went in before work, sure enough, two cops with doughnuts and coffee. Went there later, around 2 AM, and there's cops there again!

Well, doughnut shops are well known for their criminal activity and creme filled goodness.

No, they aren't that great, then again, I'm not willing to sleep outside in lines for very much. have to be something more exciting than a concert or a donut.

Yeah, I have to believe a 24 hour doughnut shop is the safest place in the world to work.
