Hello.
I have been hearing alot about out of control popups on xug.net user pages.
However I have not seen a single ad on any xug.net user pages, and only see one when I enter their main page.
I have even tried viewing several xug sites on a couple different computers, running differen OS's and browsers and haven't seen any ads.
I would like to know who also does not see these ads.

very strange.....
maybe just the newer accounts are gettin adds put on :confused2

I'd just like to set things straight, that currently our system does not parse ads, making xug.net effectively ad-free for the time being. I would be very interested in knowing whats causing any users to see an ad on their site.

In better news, we should be enabling and approving another 1,000 accounts this weekend.

Well I have also an account with them and never seen an ad :)

I wonder why some people getting ads? :rolleyes:

Yeah.
I thought that Xug didn't force any ads on user accounts, and well this has been confirmed.
Still makes me wonder about other users "supposedly" seeing many popups when visiting user sites.

Xug doesn't allow me to register.

Invalid name john binder. Please enter your correct First Name. Latin letters only allowed.
Invalid name mullerdesonga. Please enter your correct Last Name. Latin letters only allowed.
Invalid City latins. Latin letters only allowed.

What is that Latin letter stuff? :confused:

Yeah, I will not be impressed if it turns out that the reason that people are seeing popups on xug.net pages, is because they have added ads to their site or they are receiving the ads from some other service such as a url redirect.

I'm yet to see a url posted that has an ad parsed in by us. Xug.net itself does have a popup, but that it our own site, not the users...

Your name must start with a capital letter, so try John and Mullerdesonga :cool2:
