Well today my Girlfriend came over and her dad was here (our parents are good friends) and she actually came over for a bass lesson, well when I was walking her out to her car for some reason everyone came with me. And everyone was busting up laughing at me and they were all telling me to look on my back. So I was like turning around thinking they put a note that said I'm stupid or something on my back. Well after several minutes of them laughing uncontrollably they finally said look at Ashleigh (my sister) well she was over there pointing behind her and I still didn't get it.
Then my eyes focused on it. My truck was parked behind her on our driveway. I just about died and ran over to it and then my dad threw the keys at me and I got my first car. It is a day I will remember for the rest of my life. I got to drive it around a little tonight but here is what it is
A 1986 GMC Jimmy 4x4 full size blazer (the old version of a tahoe)
But here is the catch
51,000 miles on it
It is in incredibly good condition with no major defects accept it needs tires and a paint job.
I'm not sure on the size of the engine but it has a ton of power and low gears. 4 wheel drive of course. I believe it has a 2 inch lift with over sized tires. A gas hog and it is blue and white. I'll post some pictures tomorrow when the sun is up...
Life is good :D
The only bad part for me is that I do not have my license only a permit, in California you have to have your permit for 6 months before you can get your license and I have only had mine for 3 :(

That's nothing. My 89 Park Avenue died with 202,000 miles on it. My 85 Impala has 84,000.

Yes I know I meant the catch as in, for a car being so old. It has less miles on it than cars a few years old.
I said I'll post pictures when the sun is out. Which it is now so give me a while

That's a catch? 50,000 miles isn't a ton. Lots of cars are driving around with 100,000+ on them.

NO NO NO...I am saying that is what makes it good as in that is what got us to buy it. It was only $3,000 and 51,000miles that is like less than half of the blue book

Congratulations! That's a great first car and it must have been very exciting, being a surprise like that.
& only 51000 miles! I just bought a 88 model car this week with just over a 100,000 miles on it, from a friend who bought it over two years ago and the odometer was broken when he bought it!
Looking forward to the pic!

Thats a pretty sweet deal. 51000 isnt that much for a 14 yr old vehicle.
have fun and drive safe :)

I haven't even thought about what I can do with it until now...Drive Inns...staying out late nights...Even though I do that already now I don't have to worry about a ride. Man the possibilities are great. The hard part is gonna be getting my girlfriends parents to trust me. It is really cool owning something with wheels an engine and that is really big

no no no...it's not a love-mobile, it's a shaggin wagon.
I think my car has over 200 000 on it, and it's a piece of ----, but once you get it going, nothing is going to stop it. I don't really want to sell it right now, but if I did, there's no way I'd get any sort of profit out of it.

Yeah should never think of a car as an investment. You will just lose money from it...but it gets you places.
It isn't so hard to get a matress in the back of the car as it to get a girl back there :confused2

But it's easier to get a girl back there if you have a mattress.

I used to have a country squire wagon that had a rumble seat. aptly named.

Ever heard of Beowulf?
My name is basically a reflection of my feelings on that epic poem.
