The Onion recently wrote an article about Congress threatening to leave Washington, if they don't get a new building. http://www.theonion.com/onion3820/congress_threatens.html

It was by all mean a joke, but the Chinese actually fell for the gag.

I have seen people not see the pathetic satire on theonion and actually believe the articles.

From my view, I think the site should be shut down because it is stupid.

Did they publish an article that mocked Bush once or something?

I don't know and don't care.

My point is the satire is just plain stupid.

No... satire is funny. Not everything has to be strict and orthodox and law-like. Making fun of people is the American Way! And... all the other countries' way! And its funny. Nothings wrong with some laughs, right?

Damn straight!!!
Why must we so easily toss away the rights intrepid patriots like Larry Flynt fought so bravely for?

Aww, poor GC doesn't like the content on theonion.
I'm sick of your goddamn, superior attitude.
I honestly don't care about your opinion anymore.
You sit around on these forums all day trying to make others inferior, and being some wannabe-mod.
Heezus.

Why don't you take your own stupid opinion and shove it? I could care less what you think... and as I don't know you and have never seen you post around here I am asking you to be quiet. You are nothing but just a hooligan to this forum trying to stir up trouble.

I don't sit on these forums all day.

It's actually quite clever, witty, and intelligent.

Pshaw! (That is a word I use for saying "No it is not")

It's also a word tens of millions of others use for saying the same thing, why'd you feel the need to define it?

Anyway, though this wasn't a prime example, The Onion does have well-written satire. Quite sad that anyone wouldn't recognize it as satirical, even more so considering the over-the-top nature of this article. I'd expect a bit more from those working for a newspaper.

Well I didnīt know that. And when I learn these new words I never heard of I usually say them funny... and that is where people get off to calling me Fez. :D

Anyways, TheOnion did have on funny article a long time ago, but mostly ones I find offensive. ;)
