does naybody here know how to set up mySQL on netfirms (preferably)(if its even possible) i would like directions right from the start, because i find the mySQL documentation to be useless. all i would like to do is to set up mySQL so that i can set up a large message board on netfirms. any help would be greatly appriciated.:confused:

Tripod UK! They have php and mysql already installed and ready to use. Or you can use spaceports. What BB are you trying to install because only vbulletin will work on tripod.

i am completly unaware of what mySQL does, as they really have no straight up answer to either: "what does it do?" or "how do i install it?"
i was planning to install ikonboard or invision board, both which require mySQL (ikonboard works better with it, but can be run without it)

mySQL is a database that uses Select Query Language. http://mysql.org
