either they get in through ftp or find some way to wipe out our mysql database.

Nope. If any anti-hacker stuff was setup, the hacker would just try to hack your anti-hacker, and it'll get hacked anyways.

I know. Make your site real boring, with barely anything in it, get a stupid membername (if you're hosted by some FWP) that hackers wouldn't want... that's about all I can tell you.

Riight.. Like that will happen. I guess the guy is just jealous of our chat lol. Ah.. off to contact the host and perhaps the authorities again...

get your host to put in BullDog software. It is not able to be hacked. And i say this because they held a competition for 2 days and gave a group of the worlds best hackers user names and passwords and set them up with their own computers on a network witht he server running this bulldog software. wel no one got in. Then there is a month long competition going on that if you can hack the software over the net you get 50 grand. Well no one has done it and no one will. Just the only antihackable software around.

Often it has less to do with the software and more to do on the one setting it up. or maybe someone did and they are more satisfied to have done it unnoticed then have the 50k

It's more likely that you're running a script which isn't secure. Lots of people lose databases simply because the script's author forgot to escape quotes.
