Would it be impossible for you to read the many other threads about getting free domains. Just a thought.

Free domains just aren't worth what you're getting it for.

My advice is: DON'T! Trust me, it's not worth it, you will regret it if you do.

Does anyone know how often they give away free domain names?

Anyone know how long it takes for eMEisp to register domains? (They said they would do something within 48 hours-but I don't know what)

Canuckkev

Like I've said before, it took about a week to register one for me.

Why don't more people talk about emeisp? All I have heard is Namezero.

Someone posted this URL:
http://www.yournamefree.com/ynf.html

On the same page:

"Also, when you register your domain name we'll see that you get $10.00 off the usual $70.00 two year registration fee charged by Network Solutions. You'll pay only $60.00 US for your two year registration"

So its not free.

I have spent a couple of evenings with a sheet of paper on clipboard in front of the TV trying to get a free domain service to make a profit on paper. I just couldn't make it work.

I thought about a certain percentage ordering hosting from us but that did not add up as the percentage would need to be too high.

The problem is that as soon as you started offering free domains loads of people would sign up for lots of domains each and it would kill the business.

Then I thought of charging $3 or $4 per domain and hoping that sone would upgrade. I could just about make that model work on paper but it was still just a break even.

Then you have to ask the question about why everyone needs so many domain names?
I have one. I have various sites at http://domain/directory and they all get picked up by search engines. You don't actually need more than one domain name for most personal purposes.

These are not real domain names and are not part of the internet.
