Image Editing Software

I am looking for free image editing software, that functions much like photoshop or paint shop pro. If anyone can help me I would greatly appreciate it.

P.S. No pirated software!

Don't know if this will fit the bill but you can try the GIMP.

Gimp is supposed to be one -----in program.

I've got an old 486 that I'm gonna boot Linux on so I can test out GIMP.

However, I've been unable to install it on a windows OS. Maybe you should try PSP, $99 isn't much, plus you get a gif animator. If you're good with it, it can do just as good as photoshop.

There is a version of Gimp is available for Windows - http://www.gimp.org

Try Pixel32 -- Its almost like Photoshop - almost exact layout and design -- it has skins for it as well.

Or Serif (http://www.serif.com) as a number of programs for photo and imaging..

Personally, I find PSP7 the best... :)

Ugh, PSP7 is a horrible upgrade....6 is a much better program. I would highly recommend it to anyone. Same with Photoshop too, but that's damned expensive....

You're both wrong! PSP 5.03 was the BEST of the series.

But we all know that PhotoShop 5.5 blows everything else out the water, that's why I use it!

Another one you might wanna try is Microsoft Image Composer.

Image Composer is crap... It came with Frontpage 98 when I bought it 2 years ago...

I used it a couple times and removed it from my computer...
Its not worth downloading/buying...
