finding computer speed

how do i find how fast my processor is? i need to find out on m,y laptop

Well, you could go into your bios, but I'd recommend WCPUID (http://hp.vector.co.jp/authors/VA002374/src/download.html)

Yeah doesn't WCUIP tell you the exact speed it is running at? In XP it shows you in under system in the control panel

How can you tell the accuracy:confused2 If it gives you a number, how do you know if it's wrong? Using WCPUID it tells me something like 451.01 MHz or something. Are you saying in XP it will be off by more than a MHz?

Windows is accurate it doesn't tell you the speed you processor is running at it tells you the type of processor and the speed it should run at.

I think you can look at the type of processor you have in device manager look at that

Windows is off 300MHz for me

it all depends on what you have running when you try to check the speed different things will slow it down. i use Belarc Advisor @ http://www.belarc.com it tells alot of stuff on ur computer
