I've heard that one before. Actually, I read that... from Garfield. He was celebrating the "National Lazy Week", and he commented, "What's so great about being lazy, you say? What if war were declared and nobody showed?" (From Garfield Worldwide, His 15th Book date: 1-5-87)

Ah! I've found the online comic! http://garfield.ucomics.com/garfield/gaview19870105.htm[/i]

actually, its not from garfield. I saw it in a 1960's poster ad, and decided that it was pretty funny. it's good in garfield too.

Coolin, I'm not here to guess the origins of people's sigs.. :p It's just that Gayowulf's sig was so familiar that I just had to say something, that's all... ;)

a really good source fo sigs, for me anyways, is this phonebook called the info book. every page has a diferent funny quote on it. but i havent used any from there yet. it is only a last resort.

I hear that Uncle John's Bathroom Reader has some nice facts, dunno about quotes though. But facts in sigs are pretty interesting...
